Oz Blue Terpenes
Linalool
Linalool
Linalool, characterised by its pleasant sweet, lavender-scented profile, is a widely used terpene in numerous commercial and fragrance-based products. Its versatility extends to applications in foods, beverages, personal care items, and cosmetics. Derived from the oils of camphor trees, linalool's aroma and flavour exhibit subtle notes of pine and lavender with a hint of citrus. Naturally occurring in various plants, trees, and herbs, including lavender, camphor, basil, and thyme, commercially available linalool is typically obtained through steam distillation of the branches and leaves of Cinnamomum camphora. With a delightful sweet and subtle lavender-like odor enhanced by floral and woody notes, linalool's natural complexity is highlighted. Its isolate is a colourless to pale yellow liquid and is present in hundreds of plant species.
Research suggests potential benefits associated with Linalool, including:
- Analgesic properties
- Anti-inflammatory effects
- Anxiolytic attributes
- Sedative qualities
