Research suggests potential benefits linked to Thymol, such as its antifungal activity, antibacterial properties, and antiseptic qualities. It has been explored for its effectiveness in treating tinea or ringworm infections and addressing mouth and throat infections by reducing plaque, dental caries, and gingivitis. Thymol finds application in some toothpaste formulations, acts as a preservative in halothane (an anesthetic), and serves as an antiseptic in mouthwash.

Additionally, it has been studied for its role as a pesticide, general-purpose disinfectant, and medical disinfectant, contributing to overall health and addressing minor health ailments. Thymol has shown efficacy against bronchitis, acting as an expectorant for chronic disease patients. Furthermore, it has been noted to promote lactation in breastfeeding mothers experiencing calcium deficiency in their blood.
